How do I join?
Register through our RAMP registration page.(https://www.rampregistrations.com/public/participantregpage?v3=591f0ab6&pgname=getstarted2026)
Can I try before joining?
You are welcome to join one social paddle before becoming a member. This applies to our regular weekday and weekend social paddles.
A signed waiver is required prior to participation.
On-water courses and clinics are members only.
Do I need experience?
For social paddles, some prior experience is required. You should be comfortable on the water and capable of self-rescue (see “What are the safety expectations?”).
We aim to be welcoming to paddlers of all levels and offer clinics and beginner-friendly opportunities to help build skills and confidence.
What are the safety expectations?
Paddling in Howe Sound involves real risks. Water temperatures remain cold year-round, and conditions can change quickly due to wind and weather.
All participants are expected to:
• Be comfortable managing their craft in current conditions
• Be capable of self-rescue in their craft
• Wear a PFD (personal flotation device) at all times
• Carry required safety equipment in accordance with Transport Canada regulations (whistle, bailing device, 15m buoyant line, and light when applicable)
• Remain sober (no drugs or alcohol) while participating
Social paddles are led by volunteer hosts, not certified guides. You are responsible for understanding your limits and communicating with the group if conditions exceed your comfort level.
What is the status of the park construction and water access?
The construction for the X̱wún̓eḵw Park Sea Dike (https://squamish.ca/projects-plans-and-initiatives/projects-and-initiatives/project/xwunekw-park-sea-dike/)project is still underway around the club house. If you have not yet seen it - the pilings have just been completed, and the floating dock has arrived and it looks great!
• Construction is still on-track for park re-opening around September 2026
• Temporary access to the club house will remain through that period
• There will be brief periods where no access will be possible. We will be given 1 week notice, and will send an email
During weekdays within construction hours, please be mindful of the active construction work as there is heavy equipment moving into/out of the site.
The nearest water access to the club is the boat launch one block south on Loggers Lane, beside the Squamish Yacht Club.
